Who is Foundation Communities?

• Foundation Communities is a nonprofit organization that empowers low-income individuals and families with the tools they need to succeed. Our programs include affordable housing, community learning centers, and asset-building opportunities such as the Community Tax Centers.

Who the Community Tax Centers Serve

• Since 2005, we helped 2,600 people in Arlington receive almost $4.3 million in tax refunds and credits
• Our clients in 2008 came from all over North Texas and across many backgrounds and professions. Clients were predominantly young, Hispanic, single and had low incomes

What the Community Tax Centers Offer

• Paper and electronic tax filing
• Bilingual and sign-language interpreters
• Appointment through United Way's 2-1-1 service
• Prior-year tax return preparation
• Applications for Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN)
• All services are FREE, allowing clients to avoid costly tax preparation fees
